When I first started Dare to Have Hair in 2012, I was a stay-at-home mom with just $300 and a dream. I didn’t have a business degree or years of experience in the industry; I had grit, faith, and the belief that I could create something special. From day one, my goal was to offer premium, authentic hair that women could feel confident in. I wanted Dare to Have Hair to stand out as a brand that not only provided quality products but empowered women to embrace their beauty and strength.
The early days were challenging. I didn’t have the luxury of a big team or a huge budget, so I did everything myself—from customer service and packing orders to learning about marketing and sales. I faced obstacles, but my faith and commitment to building something greater than myself kept me going. Slowly, the word spread, and customers began to see the quality and dedication behind Dare to Have Hair. That $300 investment grew rapidly, and within a year, we’d hit $370,000 in revenue.
Today, Dare to Have Hair is a multi-million dollar brand with a dedicated customer base and a profit margin over $10 million. But it wasn’t just about the money—it was about creating a movement. I wanted to show that you don’t have to be a statistic; you can rise above your circumstances. As a high school dropout and survivor of childhood trauma, I know what it’s like to face hardship. I didn’t let my past define me; instead, I let it fuel my mission to inspire other women to chase their dreams and to support each other along the way.
I now mentor other entrepreneurs, sharing everything I’ve learned and emphasizing the importance of resilience, community, and faith in JESUS CHRIST. From Dare University to my ‘Ultimate Journal for Bosses’ and my e-books, I’m passionate about helping others build a path forward in their lives and businesses.
Dare to Have Hair is about more than hair—it’s about daring to believe in yourself, to push past limitations, and to make a lasting impact on the world. I want to be a billboard for what’s possible when you combine faith with hard work. And I’m just getting started!
